Attention Those Seeking Exemption For First Time

Property owners must file for tax exemptions or for agriculture classification by March 1 at the Property Appraiser's Office.
Available tax exemptions include homestead, portability, widow, widower, disability, veterans, deployed military, senior (over 65), conservation, religious, and charitable.
First time applicants for homestead exemption must apply in person and bring their recorded deed and proof of residency, such as a valid Florida driver's license (with current address), Florida vehicle registration (with current address), Florida voter registration (with current address), and, if applicable, resident alien card. Also, Persons filing for any exemption are required to provide their Social Security cards.
